Abstract

Bu makalede Hıristiyanlığın kurumsallaşma sürecinde önemli merkezlerden biri olan Antakya’nın tarihi ve teolojik önemi araştırılmaktadır. Antakya Hıristiyanlık açısından Kudüs’ten sonra ikinci merkezi öneme sahiptir. Makalede Antakya’da Hıristiyanlık açsından kritik öneme sahip üç büyük dini şahsiyet olan Pavlus, Petrus ve Barnabas’ın Hıristiyanlığın kurumsallaşma sürecinde yaptıklarından bahsedilmekte ve konumları tespit edilmeye çalışılmaktadır. Ayrıca farklı düşünce ve dinlerin Antakya’da Hıristiyanlığınoluşum sürecinde oynadıkları role değinilmektedir. İsa’ya inananlar Kudüs dışında ilk defa Antakya’da cemaat haline gelmişler ve Hıristiyan ismini ilk kez burada almışlardır. İskenderiye’deki batıni yorum okuluna karşı, Antakya’da zahiri/literal/lafzi yorumu esas alan bir okul kurulmuştur. Antakya’nın yorum anlayışı, temel unsurlarının nasıl açıklanacağında belirleyici olmuş ve İsa’nın insani yönüne özellikle dikkat çekilmiştir. Antakya, Aziz İgnatius zamanında bağımsız piskoposluk unvanına kavuşmuş, Titus’un Kudüs’ü yıkmasından sonra buradaki cemaat Antakya’ya göçmüş, Hıristiyan nüfusun artması sonucu Antakya, Hıristiyan dünyasının merkezi haline gelmiş ve lideri olmuştur. Hıristiyanlığın iki büyük mezhebi olan Ortodoksluk ve Katolikliğin Antakya’da kiliseleri vardır.
