The Best Choice: Sleeping Between 19 to 3 (or 4). Based on Data of 6000 Iranian Families. Most melatonin secretion occurs between 2 and 4 am in people who are asleep (during rapid irregular eye movements during sleep). Therefore, waking up during these hours reduces melatonin secretion. Decreased melatonin secretion increases insulin secretion during these hours. Therefore, waking up at 2 to 4 o'clock can help treat metabolic syndrome or similar conditions. Perhaps the reason for the minimal risk of SARS-Cov-2 apparent Infection in people who wake up at 4 am lies in the relationship between melatonin and insulin on the one hand, and the relationship between insulin and SARS-Cov-2 risks on the other.
