Trachylepis occidentalis (Peters, 1867) Material (three specimens): One adult specimen (MHNCUP/REP 273, formerly UP-MHNFCP-017375; Fig. S43), collected from Bahia dos Tigres [=Baía dos Tigres] [-16.58559º, 11.82709º, 98 m a.s.l.] Namibe Province, in 1905; one adult specimen (MHNCUP/REP 274, formerly UP-MHNFCP-017376), collected from Bahia dos Tigres [= Baía dos Tigres] [-16.58559º, 11.82709º, 98 m a.s.l.] Namibe Province, in 1905; one adult specimen (MHNCUP/REP 275, formerly UP-MHNFCP-040728), collected from unknown locality, date unknown. Comments: The distribution range of T. occidentalis in Angola is mostly limited to desert regions in Namibe Province, southwestern Angola; it also occurs in central and western Namibia as well as western South Africa (Ceríaco et al. 2016a; Marques et al. 2018). None of these specimens were published by Ferreira (1904, 1906). Recently, Ceríaco et al. (2016a) collected the third published record for Angola from “Pico Azevedo” and sighted specimens (uncollected) near Espinheira camp, Namibe Province.
