MATÉRIEL EXAMINÉ. — Nimba: Ziéla, U. V., 28.III.1957. Cette espèce représente en fait, très probablement, la forme occidentale du Claudelater carinicornis (Schwarz 1903), lequel est originaire de Nguelo en Usambara. En vérité, l’espèce est répandue dans une large partie de l’Afrique intertropicale forestière, mais les individus de l’Afrique de l’Ouest se distinguent presque tous par la couleur moins sombre du pronotum et par la tache noire médiane, longitudinale, qui couvre les premiers interstries des élytres, bien moins longue et moins large.
