Abstract

Rhinopsephus venustus Girard, 1985 Rhinopsephus venustus Girard, 1985: 333. Holotype ♁ de la Côte d’Ivoire (MNHNP). Iconographie: Girard 1985: 332. 3 individus: Lamotte, 1942; Girard, 1981. MATÉRIEL EXAMINÉ. — Nimba: Yalanzou (forêt), lumière, II-VI.1942; plateau de Zouguépo, vers 700 mètres d’altitude, 3-5.III.1981, battage à la lisière de la forêt. L’espèce est originaire de la forêt de Taï en Côte d’Ivoire (G. Couturier, van Zeijst), mais elle a été trouvée aussi dans d’autres localités forestières de la Côte d’Ivoire, à Sikensi notamment (J.-M. Leroux); sa présence dans la forêt de la zone planitiaire du Nimba est donc naturelle et confirme sa localisation géographique. Ce Rhinopsephus présente sensiblement la même coloration que le Rhinopsephus sylvaticus Basilewsky, 1958, son congénère du Congo: la tête et le pronotum sont d’un noir assez brillant, alors que les élytres sont très nettement rougeâtres.
