Abstract

Elasmosomus fasciculatus Schwarz, 1902 Elasmosomus fasciculatus Schwarz, 1902: 214. Type du Cameroun (IFPBE). 1 individu: Lamotte, 1942. MATÉRIEL EXAMINÉ. — Région du Nimba: Yalanzou, II-VI.1942. Cet Elasmosomus, un des plus petits du genre, est assez facile à identifier. Il se distingue d’ Elasmosomus linearis Schwarz, 1902, près duquel on le place habituellement par sa taille plus courte, son pronotum plus arqué en avant, et la forme des bandes médianes et basales des poils semi-squamuleux. Il a été décrit d’après des exemplaires provenant du Cameroun. Jusqu’à ce jour il n’avait jamais été capturé ou signalé d’un autre pays et sa présence en Guinée est très intéressante car elle nous indique une assez large distribution dans l’ouest de l’Afrique. C’est dans la zone forestière du piedmont qu’il a été trouvé au Nimba.
