Abstract

Lanelater substriatus (Candèze, 1857) Agrypnus substriatus Candèze, 1857: 25. Lectotype ♁ du Sénégal (NHML). Lanelater substriatus ¢ Arnett 1952: 105. Iconographie: Girard 1971: 561. 1 individu: Lamotte, Amiet et Vanderplaetsen, 1956-1957. MATÉRIEL EXAMINÉ. — Nimba: U. V., 19.V.1957. ÉCOLOGIE. — C’est probablement l’espèce que l’on rencontre le plus souvent en Afrique occidentale. Elle vit surtout dans les grandes forêts primaires, mais on la trouve aussi fréquemment dans les zones boisées très dégradées par l’action de l’homme. Le début de la saison des pluies paraît le moment le plus favorable à son émergence et à son envol; durant cette courte période, elle se capture souvent au piège lumineux. DISTRIBUTION. — Sa distribution géographique s’étend du Sénégal au sud de l’ex-Zaïre.
