COLOMBONISCUS VANDEL, 1972 Type species: Colomboniscus regressus Vandel, 1972 (by monotypy). Diagnosis Endoantennal conglobation. Very small: maximum 3.5 mm. Integument smooth, with very fine and short ‘hairs’. Eye reduced, represented only by a spot of pigment without lens, or entirely absent. Cephalothorax rounded, without any rectangular corner. Pleotelson rounded, with straight sides. Flagellum of second antenna three-jointed, and very slender. All coxal plates simple. Noduli laterales small, on the hind margins of the tergites. Remark Vandel (1972) defined this genus by its ‘numerous regressive traits’.
