Abstract

Sphex fumicatus CHRIST 1791 3, 14 (compared with det. Hensen, NHMW) These males are characterized by erect white hairs on frons and clypeus and placoids only on flagellomeres V and VI. T u r k e y:5, (Antalya) Konakli W Alanya, 18.-30.VII.1996, leg. Bulirsch. V a r i a t i o n (?): These males and females are characterized by erect black hairs on frons and clypeus. Male flagellomeres with an oval placoid on basal half and broad placoids on flagellomeres III-VI. Male genitals are similar to the specimens above.
