Lucilia sericata MEIGEN 1826

Abstract

Lucilia sericata MEIGEN, 1826 Kosmopolitisch verbreitete Art, deren Larven sich in Kadavern entwickeln. Die Zahl der von einem Weibchen insgesamt produzierten Eier beträgt 2000-3000, die jeweils in Gelegen von etwa 200 Stück abgelegt werden. Die Art ist auch als Wundschmarotzer von Mensch und Tier und als Verursacher der Schaf-Myiasis bekannt. Die Larven greifen jedoch nicht das gesunde Gewebe der Wunden an, sondern fördern im Gegenteil die Heilung. Man hat daher zwischen dem 1. und 2. Weltkrieg die Larven, besonders in den Vereinigten Staaten in grossem Umfang zur Wundheilung benutzt (ZUMPT 1956). M a t e r i a l: Oberösterreich, Nationalpark Kalkalpen, Sengsengebirge, Hinteres Rettenbachtal, 610 m. s.m., 2.8.2001, 233, 2♀♀. FRANZ (1989) nennt für den Kosmopoliten seltsamerweise nur je 1 Fund aus Niederösterreich und der Steiermark, keinen Fund für Oberösterreich. Neu für Oberösterreich!
