SPÉCIMEN TYPE. — Holotype par monotypie: C.G. 2004-71 (A.C. 1348; N.C. 556). — Inscriptions sous le socle: Amboine / Nelle Guinée x Havre Dorey / M.M. Quoy et Gaimard / (Astrolabe) 1829 nº 195 / 1348 ♂ / Platycercus dorsalis / Q. et G. / Type. — Étiquette du socle: Platycercus dorsalis / Q. & G. / Type / L’Astrolabe N. Guinée. LOCALITÉ TYPE. — Manokwari, Nouvelle-Guinée. REMARQUES Quoy & Gaimard (1830) donnent une diagnose en latin suivie d’une description détaillée, et mentionnent que le spécimen provient du «Hâvre de Dorey » (= Manokwari) en Nouvelle-Guinée.
