SPÉCIMEN TYPE. — Holotype par monotypie: C.G. 1877- 2002 (A.C. 1613 e; N.C. 863). — Inscriptions sous le socle: N. Guinée / Mr. Laglaize / 1877 nº 2002 / 1613 E / ♂ / Chalcopsitta insignis / Oust. / Type. — Étiquette du socle: Chalcopsitta insignis ♂ / (Oust.) Type / M. Laglaize N. Guinée. LOCALITÉ TYPE. — Île de la baie Geelvinck, Île Amberpon (Peters 1937). REMARQUES Laglaize était un collectionneur qui chassait à cette époque en Nouvelle-Guinée. Oustalet (1878) donne une courte description de Chalcopsitta insignis et précise que son spécimen provient d’une île située dans la baie de Geelvinck.
