Abstract

Aumentar a visibilidade internacional de seus eventos científicos é um antigo desejo de muitas comunidades científicas nacionais, incluindo a comunidade do SBES. Neste artigo, apresento e defendo a (controversa?) visão de que as iniciativas de internacionalização do SBES atualmente vigentes, particularmente o incentivo a submissões em Inglês e a publicação dos anais do evento em bibliotecas digitais internacionais de acesso fechado, vão de encontro aos princípios da ciência aberta. Portanto, buscar concomitantemente a abertura e a internacionalização do SBES seria um oximoro aparentemente irreconciliável.
