Estructura y diversidad de la familia Araceae en el sotobosque de la reserva Datanli-El Diablo.

Abstract

Se determinó la relación entre la presencia de aráceas y las variables estructurales del bosque en un ecosistema nuboso ubicado en la Finca Santa Maura, dentro de la Reserva Natural Datanlí- El Diablo. Se evaluaron las lianas localizadas en el estrato de sotobosque, y con altura menores a los 10 metros en parcelas aleatorias de 100 m2, en las cuales se midió también DAP, cobertura, presencia de claros, y a través de sistemas de información geográfica se obtuvo tamaño de parche y distancia respecto al borde. En el estudio se encontró un total de 480 individuos en 19 especies, siendo la especie predominante la Syngonium podophyllum, con mayor presencia de individuos adultos en sustratos arbóreos. Al relacionar la abundancia y riqueza con DAP, se evidenció que ambas disminuyen en árboles con diámetros mayores a 30 cm. Este comportamiento fue similar con la cobertura, hallándose una disminución en la riqueza y abundancia de aráceas a medida la cobertura de la parcela aumenta, siendo también mayor la presencia de aráceas jóvenes cuando se combinan los factores de presencia de claros y cobertura baja. La distancia al borde también se relacionó con la edad de estas plantas, mostrando que las parcelas más distantes del borde tenían menor presencia de aráceas adultas. Por último, se encontró que las aráceas adultas tienen más probabilidades de ser encontradas a alturas mayores al sotobosque, en comparación a las aráceas jóvenes.
