Character ‘…pronoti angulis posticis rectis, acutis…’ indicates the appurtenance of the species to the genus Brachypterolus Grouvelle, 1913. We therefore consider Brachypterus autumnalis as a junior synonym of Brachypterolus linariae (Stephens, 1830), which is the most common Brachypterolus species in Central Europe.
