Pseudonicsara (Cercana) dodinga Ingrisch 2009, sp. n.

Abstract

Pseudonicsara (Cercana) dodinga sp. n. Figs. 464, 508, 528, map 4. Holotype (female): Indonesia, Moluccas: Halmahera, Dodinga [0° 51' N, 127° 41' E], sea level, 2–4.XI.1951, depository: Collectio Fer Willemse, Eygelshoven, Netherlands (CW), later to be deposited in Naturalis, Leiden (RMNH). Diagnosis. The new species is characterised by the shape of the female subgenital plate, which has a median carina over the whole length, auricular subbasal lateral grooves opening apico-lateral, and the apex short rectangularly excised (Figs. 464, 508, 528). Differences to other species are outlined in the key. Description. Fastigium verticis in front of eyes 0.8 mm, from base 1.3 mm; dorsal eye length 1.5 mm; greatest diameter of eye 1.6 mm; index fastigium verticis from base: eye length 0.8. Face rugose. Tegmen surpassing hind knees; costal field widened in basal two thirds, narrow in apical third. Prosternal spines short. Mesosternal lobes rounded. Anterior and mid femur compressed and moderately widened. Femora with the following number of spines on ventral margins: fore femur 8 external, 6 internal; mid femur 6 external, 2 internal near base; hind femur 10 external, 3–5 internal. Male unknown. Female. Tenth abdominal tergite furrowed in midline. Subgenital plate with a strong and high median carina, surface rather membranous except in apical and lateral areas; with a rounded pre-apical groove on both sides; apex ending in two rounded lobes, triangularly excised in between; at each side with a large twisted auricle ascending dorsad (Figs. 464, 508, 528). Coloration. Rather uniformly medium brown (discoloured?); legs yellowish brown. Face of general colour; mandibles black. Tegmen with yellowish brown veins and medium brown cells. Measurements of female: body 26; pronotum 7.1; tegmen 22; hind femur 14.5; ovipositor 13.5 mm. Etymology. Named after the type locality; noun in apposition.
