Abstract

6 Unterfamilie Epichnopteriginae Bei den Epichnopteriginae verbleibt die weibliche Puppenhülle im Sack. Das voll entwickelte, habituell eher einer Raupe ähnelnde Weibchen besitzt stark verkürzte Beine und Fühler. Es ist flügellos und der Ovipositor nur kurz. Das Weibchen bleibt in der Puppenexuvie, die am Vorderende aufreisst. Nur zum Anlocken des Männchens schiebt es sich durch Winden des Körpers bis höchstens zur Hälfte aus der hinteren Öffnung des Sackes heraus 10. Die Sexuallockstoffe (Pheromone) werden von den hypodermalen Drüsen am Nacken produziert (DIERL 1973). Besonders bei Rebelia fallen am Vorderkörper wollige Haarschuppen auf, die vielleicht die Verdunstung der Pheromone fördern. Die Analwolle ist bei dieser Unterfamilie gut ausgebildet. Zur Kopulation schiebt das angelockte Männchen seinen dehnbaren Hinterleib zwischen Weibchen und Puppenhaut an die weibliche Hinterleibsspitze. Die Eier werden in die Puppenhülle abgelegt, danach windet sich das Weibchen aus dem Sack und fällt ab.
