Abstract

Stenus polydamas nov.sp. (Abb. 44, 100, 131) Material: Holotypus () und 4, 8 - Paratypen: Neu Guinea NE, Mt. Wilhelm, 3900m, 13.-24.IX.1968, J. Balogh (NG-M-C.26); Paratypen: 2, 2: Mt. Wilhelm, Keglsugl, 19.-14.VIII.1969, idem (NGMt-U-6); 3, 1: ibidem (NGMt-U-8).- HT und PTT im TMB, PTT im MHNG und in cP. Beschreibung: Makropter, schwarz, am Kopf und Abdomen mit sehr schwachem Blauschimmer, glänzend, Vorderkörper ziemlich grob bis wenig grob, dicht (Stirn) bis wenig dicht punktiert, Abdomen fein und wenig dicht punktiert; Beborstung anliegend. Fühler gelb, Keule rötlichgelb. Kiefertaster und Beine gelb, Tarsengliedspitzen angedunkelt. Clypeus und Oberlippe blaumetallisch, ziemlich dicht beborstet. Abdomen seitlich ungerandet, Tarsen gelappt. 8. Tergit mit apikomedianem Borstenfleck. Länge: 5,3-5,8mm (Vorderkörperlänge: 2,9mm). PM des HT: HW: 37; DE: 20; PW: 29; PL: 37; EW: 47; EL: 56; SL: 47. Männchen: Metasternum flach gewölbt, ziemlich grob und auf der Scheibe ziemlich dicht punktiert, median glatt. 5. und 6. Sternit median nur schwach eingedrückt. 8. Sternit mit dreieckigem Ausschnitt im hinteren Drittel des Sternits (9: 28). 9. Sternit und 10. Tergit wie bei S. menelaus nov.sp. Aedoeagus (Abb. 100, 131), dem des S. menelaus zum Verwechseln ähnlich. Weibchen: Etwa wie bei S. menelaus nov.sp. Differenzial diagnose: Diese neue Art ist von mir 1982 mit S. nigrescens PUTHZ verwechselt worden. Ihr Aedoeagus, vor allem aber dessen "Taurus-Spange" und die dichtere Paramerenbeborstung zeigen jedoch, dass es sich hier um eine eigene Art handelt. Wenn sich auch ihr Medianlobus nicht sicher von dem des S. menelaus unterscheiden lässt, so zeigen doch die deutlich verschiedenen ventralen Sexualcharaktere des männlichen Abdomens, der schmälere Kopf und die kaum metallische Färbung, dass es sich hier um eine verschiedene Art handelt. Etymologie: Für diese Art wähle ich den Namen eines Freundes des Hektors.
