Rhotanella thyrsis species group Diagnosis. The species of this species group can be recognized by the combination of the following characters: 1. Head in profile triangular, produced in front of eyes only. 2. Forewings lacking a row of dark spots on the basal part of the costal margin, but here the margin is often lined with red (not in R. lucida). Distribution. Species of this group are found in New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, the Philippines and Indonesia (but not Borneo).
