ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Idia xanthogaster Wiedemann, 1820; Idia rostrata Wiedemann, 1820; Musca punctulata Wiedemann, 1819; Musca lunata Fabricius, 1805; Musca discolor Fabricius, 1794. TYPE SPECIES: Musca lunata Fabricius, 1805, by subsequent designation (Brauer & Bergenstamm, 1889: 154). CURRENT STATUS: Preoccupied by Hübner, 1806; senior (but invalid) synonym of Stomorhina Rondani, 1861 [teste Schumann (1986: 56)]. FAMILY: RHINIIDAE. REMARKS: Earlier type species designations by d’Orbigny (1845: 16) and Blanchard in Audouin et al. (1846: pl. 178) of Idia fasciata Meigen, 1826 are invalid because this is not an originally included species. [Iytherea] Wiedemann, 1819a: 12. CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Cytherea Fabricius, 1794. FAMILY: BOMBYLIIDAE. REMARKS: Criteria to make this name available as an emendation were not found to be fulfilled in this work.
