CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [teste Evenhuis & Greathead (1999: 229)]. FAMILY: BOMBYLIIDAE. [Anthrop] Wiedemann in Meigen, 1826: vi. CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Anthrax Scopoli, 1763. FAMILY: BOMBYLIIDAE. REMARKS: Criteria to make this name available as an emendation were not found to be fulfilled in this work.
