209. Exogaster Rondani, 1856: 78. ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Exogaster carinatus Rondani, 1856. TYPE SPECIES: Exogaster carinatus Rondani, 1856 [= Ocyptera rufifrons Loew, 1844], by original designation. CURRENT STATUS: Valid subgenus of Cylindromyia Meigen, 1803 [teste Herting & Dely-Draskovits (1993: 427)]. FAMILY: TACHINIDAE. REMARKS: Although Herting & Dely-Draskovits (1993: 427) gave the method of type fixation for Exogaster in Rondani (1856: 78) as by original designation, they listed the type species as dating from Rondani (1861c: 277 and 1861e: 131). This is incorrect. The characters in Rondani (1856: 78) that make the genus-group name available serve to also make available Exogaster carinatus as the singly included species. [Fallenea] Rondani, 1861e: 110. CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Fallenia Meigen, 1838. FAMILY: TACHINIDAE. REMARKS: Criteria for making this name available as an emendation were not found to be fulfilled in this work. [Fellea] Rondani, 1877c: 65. CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Fellaea Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 or subsequent usage of Fellea Agassiz, 1846. FAMILY: MUSCIDAE. REMARKS: The earliest mention of Fellaea Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 using the spelling “ Fellea ” that we have found in this study is Fellea Agassiz (1846b: 154), as an unjustified emendation (Evenhuis et al., 2010b: 80).
