Abstract

FIGURE 7. Maximum-likelihood (ML) tree based on 16S ribosomal RNA mitochondrial gene sequences for species currently assigned to Gracixalus (Frost 2011) and for outgroups (Philautus aurifasciatus (type species of Philautus), Kurixalus eiffingeri (type species of Kurixalus) and K. odontotarsus). Bayesian inference (BI) produced near-identical topology. Numbers on branches are ML bootstrap values and Bayesian posterior probabilities. Species names in bold represent sequences from specimens collected at or in close proximity to type locality. Species names for previously published sequences remain as in original publications. Frog images represent approximate relative male body sizes for each species/group, and approximate primary dorsal colour (dull greenish/bright green/brownish or greyish).
