Lectotype: 1„, Tenerife, Puerto of Orotava (5 Puerto de la Cruz), leg. Wollaston (ex litt). [Type] [tibialis, Woll.]. MNH, London. Paralectotypes: 1„, 1♀ (one immature), Tenerife, same locality; 1 ex (green card-line), La Palma, supra Santa Cruz, leg. Wollaston (ex litt.). MNH, London. Remarks. Having recognized that Lichenophagus incomptus Wollaston, 1865 is a good Laparocerus species, the reference of L. tibialis as the valid name of the type species of the subgenus Amyntas Wollaston, 1864 (see Alonso-Zarazaga and Lyal 1999) is no more suitable.
