Dyschirius (Dyschiriodes) hessei Kult, 1954 Material examined (1 spec.). YEMEN: SOCOTRA ISLAND: dune Hayft (Nogget), 22.ii.2009, 1 spec., lgt. P.Lo Cascio & F. Grita, det. R.F.F.L. Felix (revid. by P. Bulirsch) (PLFG). Diagnosis. Body length 2.9 mm. Yellowish brown, dull, covered with strong microsculpture. Frontoclypeal suture V-shaped. Frons with three keels. Pronotum longer than wide, with entire lateral border. Collection circumstances. Only a single specimen was collected at light in an open sand dune area covered with shrubs at 250–300 m a.s.l. Distribution. Ethiopia and mainland Yemen. First record from Socotra Island.
