Menecles portacrus Rolston 1973

Abstract

Menecles portacrus Rolston, 1973b Additional records: Texas: Brewster Co.: Big Bend Natl. Pk., Chisos Mtns. below the Basin area, 7-X-1982, E. G. Riley (1♀ DAR), Big Bend Natl. Pk., Chisos Mtns., 24-V-1972, L. D. Newsom (1♀ DAR). [Mexico: Nuevo León: Chapinque mesa (nr. Monterrey), 28-VI-1983, C. W. & L. O’Brien & Marshall (2♂♂ 2♀♀ DAR)]. Distribution: United States: TX. (Mexico) Comments: As far as we know, there have been no additional records of this species published since the original description in 1973. Additionally, all previous records are from the Big Bend area of Texas. As such, it is noteworthy to provide additional data from specimens from this same area of Texas as well as the above additional record from Mexico.
