An algorithm for extracting the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) from hospital discharge records in the Basque Health System-Osakidetza. The files are converted to CSV format. Personal information is previously removed. Each line of the file corresponds to a line of text in the hospital discharge record. The algorithm was created using R Code. Here you can find a description of the steps to implement it (procedure.docs) and the abstract of the validation process (Validación Prosaki País Vasco.Docs) Algoritmo para la obtención de la fracción de eyección del ventrículo izquierdo (FEVI) anotado en informes de alta hospitalaria del Sistema Vasco de Salud-Osakidetza. Los archivos son convertidos a ficheros en formato CSV. Previamente se han eliminado las partes de texto con datos personales. Cada línea del fichero corresponde a una línea de texto del informe de alta. El algoritmo está creado en Código R. Se acompaña de una descripción de los todos los pasos para ejecutarlo (procedimiento.docs) y el resumen de la validación realizada (Validación Prosaki País Vasco.docs)
