Ranunculus cornutus var. cornutus A long-beaked variety in which the beak is at least half the length of the disc diameter and both the disc and the beak (or more rarely only the beak) are broadly winged (Fig. 5). Distribution: Widespread in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Turkey. In Israel it is known from a single herbarium specimen collected in the Sharon Plain near the town of Herzliya, 15 April 1926 (Eig, Zohary & Feinbrun s.n., HUJ!). It has not been found there since and it is possibly extinct in Israel.
