Argyroploce thrasyplaca Fletcher, 1940: 141. Semnostola semicirculana, Razowski, 1999: 443; Kuznetzov, 2001: 320. Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. magnifica in appearance, but can be separated by the dark brown, semicircular, dorsal blotch; the large, ovate, upturned socius; and the narrower cucullus. Adult (Fig. 2): Wing expanse 15.5–20.0 mm. Male genitalia (Fig. 6): Tegumen long, top truncate. Uncus absent. Socius large, ovate, upturned, setose. Valva slender, with broad base; basal cavity large, ca. 0.5 times length of valva; cucullus slender, band­shaped, provided with a ventral terminal pollex; angle of sacculus indistinct, with band of long hairs. Caulis longer than aedeagus. Aedeagus slender, apex acute, vesica with a bunch of deciduous cornuti. Female genitalia (Fig. 10): Papilla analis long and narrow, anterior half broader than posterior half. Apophysis posterioris shorter than apophysis anterioris, both slender. Antrum sclerotized, length 0.2 times that of ductus bursae. Ductus bursae slightly shorter than corpus bursae. Colliculum sclerotized at ca. 1/2 of ductus bursae. Corpus bursae subcircular, with two large horn­shaped signa. Distribution. China (Gansu, Hebei, Hubei, Qinghai, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Sichuan). Material examined.
