Anoplodesmus striolatus Pocock 1895

Abstract

54. Anoplodesmus striolatus Pocock, 1895 Anoplodesmus striolatus Pocock, 1895: 799 (D). Non Anoplodesmus luctuosus— Attems, 1898: 348 (M); nec Attems, 1914: 206 (M); nec Attems, 1936: 208 (M); nec Attems, 1937: 105 (M). Anoplodesmus striolatus — Jeekel, 1965a: 110 (L, M, K); 1968: 59 (M); Nguyen, 2010: 53 (L); Nguyen and Sierwald, 2013: 1278 (L). Record from Myanmar: South Tenasserim (Pocock 1895). Based on at least two syntypes, one male and one female (Pocock 1895), apparently in the London Museum, because Jeekel (1965a) found no relevant material of this species in the Genoa Museum. Remark. Attems (1898, 1914, 1936, 1937) synonymized Anoplodesmus striolatus with the Sri Lankan A. luctuosus (Peters 1864), but Jeekel (1965a) resurrected both to full-species status. Here we follow this opinion.
