Inventio et la problématique du genre dans Lancelot, la bande dessinée

Abstract

La bande dessinée Lancelot présente au lecteur une légende médiévale réinventée qui se préoccupe des questions sociales contemporaines tout en respectant les motifs littéraires traditionnels du roman arthurien. Cette œuvre revigore l’amour courtois médiéval en mettant un chevalier transgenre au centre du nouveau triangle amoureux et encourage une nouvelle lecture de l’histoire d’amour bien connue. Cet article propose d’analyser, de manière générale, la problématique de la crise d’identité du héros et le rôle de la femme-chevalier dans la bande dessinée par rapport aux motifs littéraires et à l’éthique chevaleresque du roman arthurien en faisant bien attention aux questions principales d’inventio dans l’adaptation contemporaine d’œuvres médiévales.
