Abstract

Lomachantha parra Rondani, 1859 ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1859b: 151. TYPE LOCALITY: “ in ditione parmensi [Parmese territory (Italy)]”. TYPE MATERIAL: 2 ♂♂, syntypes (one missing left mid- and hind-legs) (MZUF: Box 12): Lomacantha [sic!] Rnd. / parra Rnd. / 582; 1 ♀, syntype (covered with mold, missing mid-legs) (MZUF: Box 12): Lomacantha [sic!] Rnd. / parra Rnd. / 583; 1 ♂, syntype (MZUF: Box D): Lomacantha [sic!] R. parra R., 236, ♂, Parma / 393 236; 1 ♂, syntype (MSNC: Box DIPTERA Ex collezione Rondani - I): Lomachantha parra R. 53 ♂ Apenn. [= Apennines] / Coll. Rondani, scatola n° 1, posiz. E-7 / Museo di Storia Naturale Università di Pisa, Calci (PI) ex collezione Rondani. CURRENT STATUS: valid species (Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 164, Pape et al. 1995: 18, Cerretti 2010: 146, O’Hara et al. 2020: 245). REMARKS: Rondani (1859b: 151) described both sexes of Lomachantha parra without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths. The males and one female in the MZUF have different identification numbers. We found five syntypes in this study.
