Abstract

The purpose of the study is to identify the association between BMI, high TSH, prolactin, and FSH with IVF results. Methods: This retrospective analysis conducted at (KAUH) IVF Centre, all patients undergoing IVF from 1/2/2014 to 1/11/2015 reviewed. Pregnancy rate identified and factors affecting the rate analysed. Results: Included in the study 295 IVF patients aged 20 to 45, BMI ranged (14.4 - 56.60) a mean 29.169 (SD ± 6.56), 212 failed to get pregnant, and 83 had a positive pregnancy test. (Pregnancy Rate = 28.10%). Duration of infertility, TSH were not different in two groups. Age was statistically different, p<0.05 and The BMI were less in the positive pregnancy group, the difference was statistically significant p <0.010. The TSH there was no difference in both group p< 0.396, prolactin was high p, 0.008, and FSH was high 0.042 in the negative group. When Odd’s ratio and 95% confidence interval for each BMI category for negative and positive pregnancy test calculated 0.377 (0.217-0.654) p< 0.001 Conclusion: Factors that have an effect on pregnancy rate were younger patients with normal prolactin and FSH less than 10 and low BMI (patients BMI 18.5 – 24.9).
