This talks shows how photographies can be described and contextualized in an archive. Using the Records in Contexts (RiC)-standard instead of the older standards ISAD(G) and ISAAR(CPF), it is possible to contextualize photos from different perspectives, both in terms of content, geography, but also in terms of publication. The talk uses photos of the Swiss photographer Werner Nefflen (1919-2014) as an example.
