Abstract The research object of the present text consists in Czech male proper names of Latin origin. The main aim is to present their full list, as well as to check their initial meaning. The anthroponyms under research are divided into three major groups according to: (1) the type of the Latin name, from which the Czech one is derived; (2) their derivation, i. e. the type of the basic word, used during the process of name coining, as a part of speech; (3) the canonization of the studied names.
