The impact of COVID-19 in hospitality and tourism sector is tremendous due to deliberation of economic activities, demographics and reverses migration. This is an unprecedented crisis for taking extraordinary measures. There has been substantial reduction in business activity of hospitality and tourism industry, with essentially all mechanisms in affected and large number of employees becoming redundant for longer period of time. As the industry hit hard economically, there is harsh impact on financial position of company and its workers. As it affected global economy, and disease spreading at an alarming rate caused various government to implement lockdown and shut down operations in various manufacturing and service sector, with an immediate effect on labour force which started to migrate back to their home countries, cities and villages. This paper attempts to explain the effect on labour migrants of tourism and hospitality sector in Global and Indian scenarios suggesting some long and short term policies and recommendations for considerations by government and corporate sector.
