Abstract

Penatalaksanaan diabetes mellitus dapat melalui modifikasi gaya hidup dan pengobatan yaitu dengan memanfaatkan kulit kayu manis, mengandung zat aktif yaitu polifenol yang bekerja dengan meningkatkan protein reseptor insulin pada sel, sehingga dapat meningkatkan sensitivitas insulin dan menurunkan kadar glukosa darah. Tujuan dari penelitian menganalisis pengaruh pemberian infusa kulit kayu manis terhadap kadar glukosa darah acak pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe 2. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan Quasy Eksperimental. Metode sampling menggunakan Purposive sampling. Sampel sebanyak 28 responden, dikelompokkan menjadi 2 yaitu kelompok intervensi (obat glibenklamide dan infusa kulit kayu manis) dan kelompok kontrol (obat glibenklamide). Hasil uji statistik pada kedua kelompok menggunakan Uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Pada kelompok intervensi nilai signifikansi ρ= 0,002 artinya ada pengaruh pemberian infusa kulit kayu manis terhadap tingkat kadar glukosa darah acak pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe2. Pada kelompok kontrol nilai signifikansi p = 0,564 >0,05 artinya tidak ada pengaruh pemberian glibenklamide terhadap penurunan kadar glukosa darah acak pasien diabetes mellitus tipe2. Hasil uji statistik Mann-Withney U Test didapatkan nilai mean pada kelompok intervensi 11,07 dan kelompok kontrol 17,93, sedangkan nilai signifikansi (P-value) = 0,012 < 0,05. Pemberian infusa kulit kayu manis dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe 2. Pemberian infusa kulit kayu manis perlu diberikan sebagai alternatif pengobatan pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe 2.
