We report a recent analysis of the thermal emission spectrum of the non-transiting hot Jupiter Tau Bootis b using the NIR spectra from CARMENES/CAHA. Using a cross-correlation (CC) to log-likelihood method, we find evidence for the absorption of water vapour and HCN in this atmosphere in one of observation. We have also done a preliminary high resolution atmospheric retrieval on this data which retrieves a high abundance of water and HCN.
