GridKit: GridKit 1.0 'for Scientists'

Abstract

This is version 1.0 of GridKit 'for Scientists'. GridKit is a power extraction toolkit for OpenStreetMap. Its purpose is to convert the geographical features of power structures in OpenStreetMap to a topological network that can be used for power system analysis. In other words, to connect the individual lines and stations into a network. GridKit has been developed in the context of the SciGRID project with the same aims. Attached to this release is a current export of the European high-voltage network.
