Distribution of Scytodes thoracica (Latreille, 1802) (Araneae: Scytodidae) in Poland. Scytodes thoracica (Latreille) is a synanthropic spider species, originating from southern Europe. In the last decades, the expansion of this species in Western and Central Europe has been observed. From the Poland area of S. thoracica was generally mentioned at the end of the 19th century, but its presence was not confirmed for over the next 100 years. This spider was rediscovered in Poland in the 90s of the 20th century and since then it is already a permanent element of the national araneofauna. Authors presented new information about the occurrence of Scytodes thoracica in Poland and provided a map of its distribution.
