Abstract

Contains Twitter textual data (and related metadata) retrieved from 20/11/2019 to 11/12/2019, to explore qualitative and quantitative patterns of digital hostility against UK politicians of different genders and ethnicities in the three weeks before the 2019 UK Elections. Data was retrieved to include an equal number of male and female politicians of different ethnicities and from both the Labour and Conservative Parties. Data consists of tweets including mentions to the following prominent politicians: Sajid Javid, Dominic Raab, Priti Patel, Andrea Leadsom, Liz Truss, John McDonnell, David Lammy, Diane Abbott, Angela Rayner and Emily Thornberry. Total number of words: 2,671,178.
