Open Citizen Science: Metadaten und Links für 'Die Bauwerke und Denkmäler der Welt'

Abstract

‘Die Datenlaube’ ist ein Citizen Science-Projekt für offene Kulturdaten. Seit 2008 transkribiert eine wachsende Gemeinschaft in Wikisource ‘Die Gartenlaube’, d. h. insgesamt circa 18.500 Artikel des ersten deutschen Massenblatts der Jahrgänge 1853 bis 1899. Wir zeigen beispielhaft: Bibliografische und andere Metadaten sind ein bürgerwissenschaftliches Forschungs- und Tätigkeitsfeld. Verbindungen von Citizen Science und Makerkultur ermöglichen neue Projekte, in denen Crowdsourcing-Strategien und selbständige Forschung zueinander finden können. Diese neuen datenorientierten Methoden sind u.a. für die digitalen Geisteswissenschaften (Digital Humanities) relevant. Offene Kulturdaten ermöglichen zusätzliche Reichweite, Sichtbarkeit, Wissenschaftskommunikation i.S.v. “Linked Open Storytelling” sowie die Wiederverwendbarkeit von Ergebnissen aus Citizen Science-Projekten wie #DieDatenlaube. Die verwendeten offenen Werkzeuge zur Datenpflege bieten verschiedene Möglichkeiten der Teilhabe, der Kooperation, des Austauschs und der Belohnung.
