Abstract

Fr. Stanisław Płodzień was the priest of the Podlasie diocese, now of Siedlce. He was an outstanding expert in ancient and Roman law. Until today, his doctoral thesis entitled: „Lex Rhodia de iactu. Study in the field of commercial and maritime law” is valued and known among researchers. From August 1, 1953 to October 9, 1954 he was the Vice-Rector of the Catholic University of Lublin for administrative matters. In the years 1954-1956 he was the vice-rector of the Catholic University of Lublin. He died at the age of 49. His memory is still alive at the Catholic University of Lublin and in his native parish Jeziorzany (formerly Łysobyki).

Ks. Stanisław Płodzień był księdzem diecezji podlaskiej, obecnie siedleckiej. Był wybitnym znawcą prawa starożytnego i rzymskiego. Do dziś jego praca doktorska pt: „Lex Rhodia de iactu. Studia z zakresu prawa handlowego i morskiego” są cenione i znane wśród badaczy. Od 1 sierpnia 1953 r. do 9 października 1954 r. był prorektorem ds. administracyjnych Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego. W latach 1954-1956 był prorektorem Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego. Zmarł w wieku 49 lat. Jego pamięć jest wciąż żywa na Katolickim Uniwersytecie Lubelskim oraz w rodzinnej parafii Jeziorzany (dawniej Łysobyki).
