The datasets are derived from the following article, please cite this article when using the data: Kummu M, Heino M, Taka M, Varis O, Viviroli D. 2021. Climate change risks to push one-third of global food production outside Safe Climatic Space. EarthArXiv (Preprint). https://doi.org/10.31223/X53K7V There are four datasets: - HoldridgeLifeZones_38classes.zip: Holdridge Life Zones (original 38 classes) for baseline (1970-2000) and future (2021-2040, 2041-2060, 2061-2080, and 2081-2100) conditions under two climate change scenarios (SSP1-2.6; SSP5-8.5). classification_table_Holdridge.csv includes the HLZ class names that correspond to the class numbers provided in the geoTIFFs - HoldridgeLifeZones_13classes.zip: Holdridge Life Zones (Reclassified to 13 classes; see Figure 1 in the article) for baseline (1970-2000) and future (2021-2040, 2041-2060, 2061-2080, and 2081-2100) conditions under two climate change scenarios (SSP1-2.6; SSP5-8.5). classification_table_Holdridge.csv includes the HLZ class names that correspond to the class numbers in the geoTIFFs - holdridge_change.zip: magnitude of change in Holdridge Life Zones between baseline (1970-2000) and future (2081-2100) conditions for two climate change scenarios (SSP1-2.6; SSP5-8.5). - SCS_maps.zip: Safe Climatic Space maps; see Figure 6 and Figure S7 in the article for further information. Dataset specifications: spatial extent: -180, 180, -90, 90 (xmin, xmax, ymin, ymax) spatial resolution: 5 arc-min (0.083333333 degrees) projection: long/lat WGS84 no data value: NA

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
