Quiet sun regions in the solar atmosphere are riddled with short-lived small scale magnetic structures. Magnetic elements in the internetwork region show high dynamic and complex behaviour, which can play a significant role during magnetic flux exchange towards the upper atmosphere. Here, we will briefly introduce the QUEST project and we will present our results on a statistical study of convective collapse events. These highly dynamic events have been associated with fast mass flows and are also suspected to trigger shock fronts propagating into the upper atmosphere. We will showcase a few examples in detail to demonstrate how we utilise the wide range of wavelength and diagnostics to study the temporal evolution of the events and their connectivity throughout the photosphere and chromosphere.
