Abstract: The flamenco industry moves millions of euros and gives work to thousands of people. For this reason a study at national level that would quantify and analyse the economic aspects of flamenco needs to be to carried out. Flamenco has become more socially accepted as society has grown up intellectually: an educated society, sensitive to art, will always be more receptive than the illiterate and uneducated masses. From the economic point of view, flamenco art has undergone a transformation, which, without wishing to exaggerate, could be described as revolutionary. Flamenco only began to gain in prestige and status with the arrival of democracy in Spain, but it was then that its worth also started to be overestimated, and in particular that of some of its artists.
