BBC Micro: bit is an easy-to-use microcontroller with some embedded sensors and inputs for connecting various electronic devices, which was developed to encourage children to learn to program, creating innovative and technological designs. We implemented the Micro: bit in an extracurricular robotics course of the Jorge de Rezende Sobrinho Municipal School located in a region of high social vulnerability in the city of Manaus (Amazonas, Brazil), with the proposal to open new possibilities for the application of Creative Learning, supported by features of Maker Culture and STEM education, in the construction of prototypes using the microcontroller, sensors, actuators, and low-cost materials.
