(P [P01306143]). DISTRIBUTION GÉOGRAPHIQUE ET ÉCOLOGIE. — Endémique de Madagascar: domaine du Centre, secteurs nord et moyen, entre 1200 et 2300 m d’altitude. Forêt sempervirente, sous-bois clairs et humides. Terrestre, peu fréquente, abondante, envahissante par endroit. DESCRIPTION Rhizome Dressé portant des écailles longues de 1,4-2,7 mm, bicolores, à zone centrale lancéolée ou triangulaire, noire, coriace et marge claire, membraneuse, plus ou moins érodée; frondes en touffe, lianescentes, isomorphes, longues de 200-400 cm. Pétiole Nu, couleur paille, plus court que le limbe, long de 52-87 cm. Limbe Subcoriace, nu, étroitement oblong-lancéolé, jusqu’à 180 × 50 cm, 2-penné; environ 20 à 25 paires de pennes espacées de 8-13 cm, à apex caudé; pennes moyennes constituées de 18 à 29 paires de pinnules libres (partiellement adnées chez les jeunes individus), sessiles, oblongues ou étroitement lancéolées, apex obtus, plus rarement aigu ou atténué. Face supérieure du rachis et des costae canaliculée lisse, celle des costae portant à la base de chaque segment des épines larges, aplaties. Nervures saillantes sur les deux faces, libres, 1-bifurquées. Sores Linéaires interrompus au niveau du sinus et n’atteignant pas l’apex; indusies membraneuses; paraphyses nombreuses.
