This dataset contains radar scans collected by Shared Mobile Atmospheric Research and Teaching Radar #1 (SMART-R1) at 34.27305 deg N 78.00259 deg W, Interstate 140 bridge over the Cape Fear River, near Wilmington, North Carolina, during Hurricane Florence landfall, 13-14 September 2018. Files with name of form SR1_YYMMDDHHMMSS_YYMMDDHHMMSS.tar.gz record the observations made by the radar during operations. The YYMMDDHHMMSS time stamps give the start and approximate end times of the data in the tar ball. Extraction with a command like "tar zxf SR1_180913130652_180913141359.tar.gz" will produce a directory SR1/iris_data/product_raw with the data files. The files are in Sigmet raw product format, documented at: ftp://ftp.sigmet.com/outgoing/manuals/IRIS_Programmers_Manual.pdf Archive florence_dda.tar.gz contains Dual Doppler synthesis of observed winds from SMART-R1 and the KLTX WSR-88D.For more information, please contact: M.
