Monitoramento do desflorestamento em assentamentos rurais amazônicos com uso de geoprocessamento

Abstract

A presente pesquisa buscou estimar a contribuição dos projetos de assentamento para o uso da terra no município de Lábrea, sul do Amazonas, região caracterizada pelo avanço de fronteira agrícola e presença de rodovias. Os dados foram obtidos em formato shapefile e calculados a partir de procedimentos de geoprocessamento, bem como criação de um banco de dados de Sistema de Informação Geográfica (SIG), utilizando o software ArcGis 10.0. Estes dados são mensurados pelo Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE), através do Programa de Cálculo do Desflorestamento da Amazônia (PRODES). Os resultados obtidos mostraram que a contribuição destes projetos para o desmatamento do município de Lábrea variou de 2,91% (2000) a 0,81% (2013). Isto se deve a vegetação parcialmente preservada dentro dos assentamentos, com área de floresta de 71,88 (6.749,03) e 79,89% (2.276,09), para os PAs Umari e Paciá, respectivamente, desta forma, mostrando que a maior parte do desflorestamento do município apresenta outras origens. Entretanto, como sugestão de desenvolvimento ambiental em assentamentos rurais sugere-se a implementação de infraestrutura, acesso a crédito rural e assistência técnica acompanhada de medidas educativas. Políticas públicas voltadas a mitigação do desflorestamento na região amazônica, bem como o Plano de Ação para Prevenção do desmatamento na Amazônia Legal, Plano Amazônia Sustentável e Código Florestal também contribuem para a desaceleração do processo.
